Wisdom From The Word

Spiritual Stewardship

The Christian and the Earth

To understand stewardship is to grasp the essence of life’s meaning and purpose. To practice stewardship is to fulfill that meaning in a way that pleases God and satisfies the most profound human longings. Stewardship comprises the understanding that God created humankind to serve and glorify God, and all of the rest of creation was placed under human dominion and care. (Gen. 1:27-30)

The Christian and Material Things

Biblical stewardship does not require that a Christian despise money or not make every effort to prosper. The Bible does warn, however, that the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10). It is important not to allow money to become the center of one’s life. That place is re-served for Christ, and Him alone.
